Netflix Is Working On Letting You Watch TV Shows, Movies Without Internet

Netflix just keeps getting better.

In an interview with CNBC, Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos said that Netflix is working on an offline mode where you can stream TV shows and movies sans Wi-Fi.

You know, like you can already do with Amazon Prime Streaming or music on Spotify. THIS IS AMAZING.

Netflix has been expanding globally, and the service now reaches over 190 different territories. According to Sarandos, the decision to look into this technology was made after realizing many of these newly Netflix-capable countries have “different levels of broadband speeds and Wi-Fi access.”

“In those countries they have adapted their behaviors to be much more of a downloading culture,” Sarandos told CNBC. “I think as we get into more and more (of the) undeveloped world and developing countries that we want to find alternatives for people to use Netflix easily.”

There’s no word yet as to when these capabilities would roll out, but it is nice to know Netflix is looking into it.

We can’t wait for the uninterrupted-by-shoddy-routers binging to begin.
