Which Facebook friend has DELETED you? App reveals times and dates people removed you from their profile

  • The app was created by Exeter-based developer Anthony Kuske
  • It reveals which friends have deleted you since the app was installed
  • App additionally shows which accounts have been deactivated
  • Free app is available on Android, iOS and as a Chrome browser extension

Deleting people from Facebook is seen as the ultimate insult for many, and now there's an app that lets you track such affronts.

Called Who Deleted Me on Facebook, the app does as the name suggests - it reveals which contacts have unfriended you on the site.

It also shows which of your friends' accounts have become deactivated, who is online and keeps a track of friend numbers.

The app was created by Exeter-based developer Anthony Kuske and is available for free on Android and iOS. There is also a free browser extension for Chrome.

Once the app has been installed, users connect their Facebook account by signing in securely.

The opening screen shows how many friends that user has and clicking 'View Friend List' reveals a page of lists.

Along the top of this screen is a series of tabs including New, Deleted You, You Deleted, Deactivated and Current.

Clicking a person's name takes the user to their Facebook profile within the app.

The app can only track friends who have deleted users, or deactivated their account, since it was installed, and notifications can also be used to get real-time details.

Swiping right on each friend will let users remove them from the list.

Earlier this year, a developer created a browser extension dubbed 'Marauder's Map' - inspired by Harry Potter's magical version that let the boy wizard track people around Hogwarts.

The extension loaded when a person opened their Messages tab and it 'scraped' the page for location data to show the movement of friends with a startling degree of accuracy.

It was built by Aran Khanna, a Computer Science and Mathematics student at Harvard, but Facebook asked him to remove it, which stopped the map being displayed.

The tool proved so popular it exceeded the API limits on Mr Khanna's Mapbox account.

This seemingly prompted Facebook to deactivate its location sharing from the desktop website, meaning the code no longer works.

Buy as Mr Khanna points out: 'It seems locations are still being shared on the mobile app and sharing is still enabled by default so the privacy problem still exists.'

In particular, the latitude and longitude coordinates of the message locations have more than five decimal places of precision, meaning that a sender’s location is pinpointed to within three feet (one metre).

He shared this discovery in a post for Medium.com.
